Gas pipeline explodes in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District

YEKATERINBURG, May 16 (PRIME) -- An explosion has occurred at a gas pipeline in Russia’s Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District on Tuesday killing one person and severely injuring five more, Alexei Dobrovolsky, head of the healthcare department for the region, said on his Telegram channel.

"The information about the victims of the fire on one of the segments of the gas pipeline in the Beloyarsk District during maintenance works. Of six injured one is dead, five severely injured," he said.

According to the emergency service, the pipeline was put out of operations before the accident.
